Act Two

     After reading Act Two I have come to realization that Nora is slowly becoming paranoid and is starting see that her life might be "over" after Torvald reads the letter that Krogstad left telling him that Nora has committed a crime of forgery and borrowing money without paying back their debt. But in Act Two we see a different and naughtier side of Nora. She is very flirtatious with Dr Rank and they continued to "talk" but Rank blows it by revealing that he has always loved Nora. Hey, he knew he was dying anyway so might as well get all you wanted to say out of the way you know.
     But Nora is still very paranoid, she talks to people of her household asking them if they think that her children would miss her if she was to have to leave. But she pulls a fast one and distracts Torvald from checking the mail by performing the Tarantella, making mistakes on purpose so that Torvald would help her and not think twice of checking the mail. Act Two was kind of dry but Act Three started off pretty interesting and suspenseful. I hope that the play will end with a bang.

Act One

A Doll's House

Act One started off pretty dry and got a little weird and corny after hearing Torvald call Nora a different animal for the tenth time in five lines. Nora is coming off as a little spoiled brat if you ask me. Nora seems like she uses Torvald for his money and power. But he doesn't know all of the stuff Nora has been accomplishing behind his back. She constantly lies to him, for what she believes to be, his own good. Things like working as a copyist, and even borrowing large amounts of money.

Things soon get heated when we meet these two interesting characters, Mrs. Linde and Krogstad. Mrs. Linde being an old time friend of Nora is asked to ask her husband for a place in his job so that Mrs. Linde can provide for herself after the death of her husband leaving her nothing but the sorrow and misery of his absence. Krogstad on the other hand is a different story. He was that special someone that Nora borrowed the money from to save her husband. But Nora is being blackmailed into helping Krogstad keep his job by telling Nora that he would promise to tell Torvald that Nora borrowed money and has yet to pay it back. Torvald absolutely HATES those who borrow money. He even comes to say that those certain people corrupt their children due to their endless lying and deception. Nora is now stuck between a rock and a hard place and now has to make a tough decision. Hopefully these next few acts reveals the fate of these characters.

Henrik Ibsen was a Norwegian Playwright born on March 20, 1828. In his early childhood he went through many hardships due to the fact that his family was going through poverty. But Henrik became one of the most well-known playwright, poet, and author that came from Norway even through all of the obsticles that he had to overcome. He was famous for his plays including The Pillars of Society, Ghost and Peer Gynt. These plays were divided into three different periods of his life. I think that the title A Doll's House relates to how the story might be about two individuals that is involved in a romantic relationship but there always has to be a twist. So hopefully I will enjoy this play.

first time blogging.... here goes nothing.

Chris Ong here! Well if you read the title its kind of obvious that this is my first time blogging. I even bought myself this neat little book. Anyways there were PLENTY of things I enjoyed about English class this year with Ms. Santos and Ms. Pettigrew. From the walking our little troop to class to Ms. Pettigrew catching me sticking the middle finger at Albie. I can honestly say that I'll definitely miss class period 2 English class of 2010-2011
